Welcome.
This site is for you.
This site is for us.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Tracey. I am one of the three founders of Frontline Baddies. I have been working frontline for years in multiple cities and even countries. I have worked frontline in #justice, #housing, and #addiction. I have worked with youth and adults. All of the founders are #frontlineworkers who have come together after realizing there was no form of community care for us.
I know one thing to be true, our communities are filled with people who care about others. Who go out of their way to make sure others have a chance of survival. I like to call these individuals #frontlinebaddies. They literally walk the extra mile, they do the extra thing, they take the extra time to make sure things are as right as possible. If you have found yourself reading this, you are probably one of us. So I say again, Welcome.
Welcome to our community. A safe place where you can come and talk about the hardest parts of this job. Where you can celebrate with others who understand "small" victories, due to not seeing many large ones in this line of work. Where you can laugh and cry with others who not only are like you in fundamental ways, but understand you in those ways as well.
We are excited to be here. We are excited to bring change to how we connect with others. We want more work-life balance. We want self care AND community care. We hope this brings that to you. We hope that instead of stewing on something that happened at work, you post about it and get the validation, support, and advice you need so you stop stewing. So that you actually enjoy your time off.
We are also excited to be brining support groups to Frontline Baddies in the future. These include groups on Emotional Fatigue, Combating Harmful Impacts of Colonization, Struggles of BIPOC Women in Frontline Work, BurnOut Or Systemic Failure and more. If you have a topic that you would want to learn more about or create a community around we want to hear it.
We want to help. We have all been in places of struggle as frontline workers. We have experience unsupportive/overcapacity co-workers and managers. We have felt the effects of struggling alone in our home life because no one quit understands what we do or why we do it in our personal lives. We want to not only change that for ourselves, but change it for others like us.
We are glad you are here.
Welcome to Frontline Baddies. We can't wait to get to know you.
I am so excited to watch this page grow!!!! Great work
